The soccer is the most popular sport of the World. That’s because it is very easy to play it. Everybody can play soccer by only kicking the ball. But to understand the game, it is important to know the rules, the strategies, the teams and competitions, and in general, the whole soccer world.

The object of the game is to make more goals than the other team. The field cannot measure more than 119 meters of length by 91 meters of wide and either less than 91 meters of length by 46 meters of wide. The ball is circular, with a circumference between 68 and 71 cm and a weight between 396 and 453 grams. The game is controlled by a referee helped by two line men or attending referees. Normally there are two times of 45 minutes each, with an interval of rest of fifteen minutes. In eliminatory competitions, to decide matches that have finalized tied after the 90 prescribed minutes, an additional time with two times of fifteen minutes. In some cases the winner is decided by turns of shots to door from the point of penalty. In order to give validity to a goal, the ball must completely exceed the line of goal. And there are a lot more rules, but they are hard to explain and those I previously named are the most important rules.

Strategy and tactics have been very varied and several combinations have existed from the beginnings of the competitions. As the teams want to be the best of their leagues, they everyday try to get better than the other teams to win their competition. That is how appear these new strategies. Now days, the most important teams in the world are mostly from Europe. They are the Barcelona and Real Madrid from Spain; Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool from England; Milan AC, Juventus and Inter from Italy; Bayern München from Germany, PSV Eindhoven and Ajax from Netherlands; and Lyon from France. They are the best teams of their leagues and are internationally recognized.. These competitions are the Primera División in Spain, the FA Premier League in England, the Bundesliga in Germany, the Dutch first division in Holland, and the Ligue 1 in France. From the best leagues previously named emerge the best players and best teams in the world. And that is why they are so important.

But the most important competition in the world is the World Cup, which is considered the most popular event in the sport ambit. It is played every four years after qualifying competitions within various continental confederations. After this qualifying process, there are thirty two teams divided in eight groups of four teams each. Only two teams from each group pass to the Eight Finals, where eight games define the teams of the next stage. The Quarter Finals will decide the four teams of the Semi Finals. After the semifinals, there is the Big Game: the Final. This is the most viewed sport match of the world. Every soccer-follower will be sited in front of the TV, watching this game, even if his country is not in the final. After the game, is the premiation, where the winner team receives the cup, and the second and third places receive their medals.

Soccer is a very big sport. It is easy to play, but there are some rules to play it in a right way. It has a great amount of followers around the world, who don’t miss a game of the league or of the World Cup, that means they re very faithful to their teams or to the soccer. For me, Soccer is not only a sport, it is an art. But as it is qualified only as a sport, I think Soccer is the Best sport of the world!
